Working with individuals as well as couples, I am passionate about helping my clients be their best selves, regardless of the challenges they need to meet.
A graduate of Loyola University Chicago, I got my doctoral degree from the University of Cincinnati and following that, I spent a post-doctoral year at Northwestern University’s Medical Center. After my post-doctoral experience, I worked for Lutheran General Hospital, teaching Family Practice Residents and seeing their patients. My desire to spend all of my time to serve people in need of therapy, led me to establish my private practice, which is where I currently do my work in a collegial atmosphere, with other independent practitioners.
In my everyday practice, I strive to help my clients identify patterns that no longer work, so that alternative ways can be defined and implemented. I also assist in the development of new skills that optimize reactions to the inevitable twists and turns of life. I am especially interested in helping those who find themselves carrying too much stress, anxiety or sadness, as they struggle with the impact of life changes. Losses, health challenges and even anticipated, planned changes can be trying, requiring us to pause and reset.
I am interested in understanding the mind-body connection and have enjoyed exploring it in a variety of ways, including a three-year body-centered awareness training. I love nature, believe in its restorative powers, and I spend as much of my free time as possible communing with it, especially within our gorgeous national parks.
